A little history

What is now a very cosy, accommodating and stylish cottage started as a shed for the original Vigneron. He stored his equipment, worked the vineyard and lived within the shed walls. It was then later lovingly restored into a family home by the next Vigneron and her family. After Di and family purchased the property they started the learning curve of how to be vignerons as she set about creating a space nodding to its earlier and simpler roots by introducing all the comforts of home plus treasures she had gathered from travels near and far resulting in a befitting vintage feel guided by one of her favourite design terms “with the patina of bygone eras

- 3 bedrooms (1 king 2 queen)

- 2 bathrooms

- reverse cycle airconditioning

- fire place with timber included

- wood fired pizza oven (pizza bases provided)

- fire pit

- 8 acres of vineyard and gardens (complimentary bottle of our current vintage)

- situated just 6 minutes from the quaint country town of Stanthorpe and the convenience of it's restaurants, cafes, takeaways, pubs and supermarkets

- only 9 minutes to Ballandean Tavern and the surrounding wineries

- under 3 hours from Brisbane and Gold Coast, perfect for weekend getaways-

Sunroom

Formerly the paved patio now enclosed to create this comfortable and spacious sunroom with its large windows wrapping the room and  taking in the garden and vineyard but with the temperature controlled comfort of a spacious lounging and dining area serviced by long welcoming velvet lounges and a vintage farm table comfortably seating 10 awaiting your family meals. With its split cycle air conditioner this room is perfect for gatherings no matter what the temperature

"Bath" Room

A weekend escape is never quite complete without the opportunity to draw a bath and lay back and truly unwind. Sitting off the end of the sunroom, this recently renovated former laundry provides just that treat with its claw footed bath positioned to take in the vineyard view, it's Italian brass tap fittings and carefully selected components all coming together to provide a unique and uplifting vintage vibe while also providing the important second toilet, vanity and laundry facilities.

Inner Living

Stepping through the French door into the original house walls you are  greeted by another cosy sitting area perfect for curling up with a book by the wood combustion fireplace or just chatting with a cuppa while others separate off to the sunroom for board games and/or tv viewing time. Internal windows still provide views through the sunroom out to the vineyard

Third Bedroom

Our third bedroom also has a queen bed and is our cosiest room. What it lacks in size it makes up for in the view. We love hearing our guests' stories of waking up to the alpacas and sheep grazing outside their window. It comes complete with a tallboy providing ample space for clothes. It sits opposite the second bedroom and also convenient to both the "bath room" mere steps away off the sunroom and the main bathroom with shower

Let's Head Outside

You have the whole vineyard to yourself so we encourage you to gather your refreshments and/or food and enjoy the many positions around the vineyard. Grab our favourite sunset tablecloth, (from the drawer in the hutch) some bar stools and head to the back of the vineyard where you'll find an old bar table a favourite spot for sunset drinks. We just ask that wherever you venture please return everything back to the house

THE SEASONS - We haven't met one we don't love. The Granite Belt region experiences all 4 seasons which is a lovely treat in Queensland. It will depend on your holiday dates as to how you'll experience the vineyard

SUMMER - ,Our personal favourite time at the Vineyard, when the grass has returned to green, the vines are showing lush growth and you can dine outside at night with temperatures climbing back up into double figures.

AUTUMN - sees the trees and vines start to change colour and our beautiful ornamental pistachio tree dance through its colourful display.

WINTER -  sees the vines in hibernation and the frost keeping the grass at bay. This is however our most popular time for guests coming to the area to wine taste their way through the many surrounding Granite Belt wineries then heading back to the cottage to warm up by the fireplace or around the fire pit (wood provided).

SPRING - During spring you will witness the vines starting to bud and the first of the peach, apple, pear and plum blossums. Bulbs will start to show their heads bringing us into the prettiest time in the vineyard
